Stalactites Pack
Unique instruments and the perseveration of interesting sonic locations is at the heart of the GSM. Lower Saint Michaels Cave in the Rock of Gibraltar is home to many beautiful and natural rock formations known as ‘Stalactites’. These have formed over hundreds of years at a very slow pace. Due to the size and position of these formations, the GSM we able to strike them in a way to make them resonate. Each stalactite resonated at a different frequency meaning that it played a different musical note. During the expedition to Lower Saint Michael’s Cave, the GSM managed to sample these natural notes and develop virtual instruments that can be integrated with new musical compositions, enabling musicians to ‘Play’ the Rock of Gibraltar.
