今年1月，为了准备今年中国国际教育论坛配套活动——时装表演环节，UCLan服装专业的师生校友特意来到贵州千户苗寨，开展了为期一周的采风之旅，寻找能够融合中英特色的时装设计灵感。
For CSCSE China International Education Forum supporting activity-UCLan & BIFT Fashion show, UCLan Fashion Design staffs and students came to Qian’hu Miao Village, Guizhou for field research, looking for fashion design inspiration that can integrate Chinese and English features.
设计师们贵州的到此一游，似乎和我们大不相同呢？一份来自英国兰开夏的贵州旅游攻略在此奉上~
The Guizhou trip seems to be very different from general sightseeing trips. Now, let’s have a look at the special Guizhou tourist guide from UCLan.
来到贵州，当然不能错过这里民族风情极为浓厚的苗寨风光和苗绣蜡染。这次的出行安排在春节假期来临以前，也非常巧妙地避开了高峰时期，尽情领略苗寨美景，承包博物馆啦！
The Miao Village’s scenery and Miao embroidery batik should not be missed when you come to Guizhou, you could feel very strong ethnic customs. This trip was arranged before the arrival of the Spring Festival holiday in order to skilfully avoided the peak season then they could enjoy the beauty of Miao Village and museum exclusively!
不过，毕竟是专业的采风行程嘛，所以期间还特意拜访了非遗传承人，还体验了一把蜡染制作。
During this field research trip, UCLan team interviewed a master who is the inheritor of Guizhou intangible culture heritage. designers also experienced batik making process.
许多做蜡染的私人染坊隐藏在苗寨中，大家也可以尝试探索一番，说不定也能尝试手作一小件属于自己的蜡染呢！
Many private dying houses are scattered in the village, you could even explore more if you want. Maybe you could try to make a small piece of batik by yourself.
这些独特的体验刺激出我们的设计师不少的灵感，这就必须要赶紧讨论尝试转化成设计了。为了完成接下来的设计，他们还特意到苗族本地布料市场进行采购面料，在市场玩得是风生水起。
Those special experiences inspired our designers a lot. All the inspirations will be transformed to beautiful clothes. For preparing the following design process, UCLan team went to local fabric market for purchasing. Purchasing trip was even more fun.
布料市场游客不多，却能直接和苗族服装文化深入交流，感受当地人的生活，也不妨加入自己的行程中去哦。
There are few tourists at the fabric market; designers could have a chance to communicate with local manufactures deeply. If you would like to have a different trip, try this local market and you may get more inspirations.
出去耍，还有最重要的一项任务，那就是吃吃吃。UCLan的师生也体验了一把经典的长桌席，苗族姑娘会轮流敬酒，真是热情得让我们的英国绅士也招架不住了~
UCLan team also experienced Guizhou classic long-table banquet. Miao girls will toast in turn, even our British gentleman could not resist the welcome wave of Miao’s hospitality.
出去耍，虽然我们是带着任务去耍，找几位志同道合的小伙伴会让旅途增添许多乐趣。我们的团队还是个国际化团队，不但可以互相帮忙拍照翻译，还能从各自的文化背景出发注意到很多容易被忽略的亮点，把生活观察得更加细致，最重要是，能彼此结下深厚的友谊。
Although we are playing with tasks, find some like-minded partners will make the journey more fun. As an international team, UCLan group could translate and take photos for each other, what’s more, our team members could notice some omitted details based on different culture background. This field research in Guizhou not only inspired designer, but also strengthen UCLan and BIFT partnerships.
一星期的贵州之行虽然短暂，但在每一个团队成员心中都会成为长久的记忆。
The one-week trip to Guizhou, although short, will become a long-term memory in the minds of every team member.
这些散落在贵州的兰开夏故事，在中国酝酿，在英国回味。
Those interesting stories that UCLan create at Guizhou, will let British and Chinese culture exchanges innovate more creative sparks.
